I had a pleasant stay overall at the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island. The waterfront views were absolutely stunning, and I enjoyed my spacious room with a nice balcony. However, the bathroom was a bit small for my liking and the location could be a hassle without a car, especially if you're planning to visit downtown San Diego often.
